Each ballast uses a high temperature, resin seal component board for zero acoustic resonance combined with a high PAR value double-ended MH lamp. Our fixture outperforms conventional Super HPS by up to 15%. The fixture is supplied with a 240V, 16AWG input cord.

By utilizing a microprocessor, the ballast features Soft-Start technology designed to increase lumen performance, prolong lamp service life, and allows for multiple ballast to be ignited at once via staggered firing sequence. The microprocessor precisely dampens the input wattage, and allows adjustments to the output power (dimmer switch) with Multistage Dimming Technology to increase lamp service life. Under MSD, power adjustments from 40% to the Super Lumens setting  (approx. 110% of rated maximum power output) will exhibit a gradual change over a period of two minutes instead of a sudden change in lumens.

•    Our Pro 1000 digital ballast is the lightest, most compact product on the market. It also has the most mojo: Our ballast -- with it’s gold standard high efficiency, high frequency, high PAR output -- is the leading ballast on the market. This light, compact unit, crafted with our proprietary design architecture, uses a combination of sealed circuit board designs. It contains anti-moisture designs that work on multi levels, as well as anti-dust, and anti-heat designs. In addition to that, our dual fan thermostatic cooling system is just as effective as larger ballasts. This design allows us to have a more compact and lightweight digital ballast, without compromising it’s effectiveness or it’s power. 

•    No acoustic resonance

•    Plug and Play - Incredibly easy installation. The complete fixture arrives in one piece, requiring minimal assembly.

•    Multi-Stage Dimming with Super Lumens:  Everyone loves this feature. By turning the dial on the digital ballast you can adjust the output of a lamp from 40%, 60%, 100% and Super Lumens (110%). You can operate individual lamps this way so that outputs vary with each lamp. This highly versatile 1100W digital fixture allows for an incredible array of choices via growing conditions, and with that, higher quality yields. Also of note: under our Super Lumens setting, lamps will emit its maximum quality PAR. 

•    Strikes both Metal Halide (MH), and High Pressured Sodium (HPS) lamps.

•    Safe Delayed Re-strike: A timed re-strike system prevents the ballast from re-striking a hot lamp after a power failure. The re-strike will be delayed for 60 second intervals until the lamp has cooled sufficiently to be re-ignited. Safe Delayed Re-strike is controlled by Smart Balance and Soft Start.
 

•    Ultra-Low Total Harmonic Distortion (THD): High frequency digital ballasts cause waveform distortions that can easily distort voltages, put excessive stress on electronic networks, and often overload equipment. Our digital ballasts – indeed our complete fixture systems -- are designed with this in mind. We have the lowest THD ratio on the market, with less than 6% operating under Overdrive, our Innoboost. It is important to note, most fixtures on the market indicate a THD are less than 10%. 

•    Dual fan thermostatic cooling system: Thermostatically controlled fans adjust each unit’s speed depending on the internal temperature of the ballast. This system design ensures that heat from the ballast disperses properly – also that the unit is virtually silent during operation. Our ballast can be cooled with a single fan, but employs a second fan as backup. The fans are tested for 50,000 hours of continuous operation, ensuring a lasting lifespan. 

•    Smart Balance Ignition Control: Integrated ignition controls seamlessly balance the electrical draw to multiple ballasts to prevent unwanted electrical surges that would otherwise overload any system’s main circuit. We use a sophisticated software controlled Smart Balance System that allows for multiple units to work harmoniously – while ensuring equal distribution along the main circuit line. By igniting one lamp at a time, our Smart Balance System prevents unwanted surges and/or tripped circuit breakers.  

•    Soft Start Technology: Alongside Smart Balance, our Soft Start design prolongs lamp life by preventing surges and with that, lamp overload.  When the ballast is started from a cold state, there is a three second fixed delay before ignition. After ignition, there is a series of random 0-2 second delays before full brightness is reached (after approximately 3-5 minutes). This technology is also activated when increasing and decreasing power to the lamp under our Multi-stage dimming with Inno-boost. 

•    Smart Self Diagnostics (SSD): Our digital ballast uses a sophisticated software-controlled circuit breaking system not seen in other manufacturer's ballasts. The system is designed to ensure the unit operates with optimum efficiency by protecting against a series of defaults which include:

 
        •    Open Circuit Protection.            •    Short Circuit Protection.                    •    Over Voltage Protection.
        •    Under Voltage Protection.        •    Over Temperature Protection.


On ignition the ballast performs a three second test of the circuit. In the event of a fault, the ballast will go into ‘protection’ mode to avoid damage to the ballast and the lamp. The cause of the fault can be diagnosed using the LED warning lights on the ballast and following chart. 

What does K mean and what is the difference between 2K, 4K, 6K, and 10K? 

The K stands for Kelvin, a measurement of color temperature (as opposed to physical temperature) expressed in numbers. Kelvin tells a grower what color the bulb emits. The lower the K measurement, the closer it is to the red spectrum. The higher the K measurement, the closer it is to the blue spectrum. 
2K is closest to the red spectrum, which is used most often for the flowering stage of a plant. 
4K is in the blue spectrum range and is best suited for general vegetative growth. 
6K, also in the blue spectrum, is best for vegetative growth with shorter spacing as well as for bushier plants. 
10K is often known as the “finisher”, and is best used during the last two weeks of a plant’s bloom, when the final boost in oil and resin production occurs. 

What are MH lights? 

Metal Halide or MH lights typically produce a high proportion of light in the blue spectrum, which is used in vegetative growth to process and produce condensed, bushy plants. This color spectrum is typically expressed between 4-10K. 

What are HPS lights? 

High Pressure Sodium (HPS) lights produce a high proportion of light in the red spectrum, which is used in the flowering stage for optimum bud formation. The color spectrum is typically in the 2-3K range. 

What are CMH lights? 

Ceramic Metal Halide, or CMH lights, are the latest version of MH lights. They produce a wider light spectrum. They also use less wattage (resulting in lower heat) while achieving the same affect as a traditional higher wattage MH light. CMH lights need a CMH ballast to operate. 

What is the difference between single ended and doubled ended lights?

Before double-ended bulbs came onto the market, single-ended bulbs were the norm. Single-ended bulbs screw in much like regular bulbs, while double- ended bulbs, like fluorescent tubes, are connected by double-ended wires. 

Double-ended bulbs are much more stable. They also have a much longer shelf life. Last, they produce an even band of light with higher PAR/PPF ratings – this means better crop yields. Double-ended lamps are also more efficient, and that also results in higher quality plants. 

However, keep this in mind. Double-ended lamps must be used with double- ended reflectors. They also have a downside. Double-ended (DE) lights cannot be air cooled directly or else they lose their efficiency. A reflector must be designed to accommodate DE bulbs. 

Can I use Innotech lamps with magnetic ballasts? 

Innotech lamps are designed to be used with digital ballasts, but will also work with most other major brands. However, they may not be used with magnetic ballasts. 

What is the light coverage for each of your types of bulbs? 

400W bulbs cover approximately 3.5x3.5 square feet. 600W bulbs cover 4x4 square feet. 1000W blubs cover roughly 5x5 square feet. 

For best results, it is best to use with Innotech Pro1000 Complete Fixture. 

How does watt affect the growth cycle? 

For a smaller growing operation, lower wattages are needed. For larger growing operations, it is best to use higher wattages that can accommodate more square footage. The wattage is the intensity of the light produced, so larger plants benefit there. But height placement of the bulb is also important, as height helps allow for taller plant growth. It also produces less heat, so plants don’t burn. 

What are the different watt settings for -- and what type of bulbs can I use with them? 

On our ballast, we have four settings of 40%, 60%, 100%, and Super Lumens (110%). Our Pro 1000 DE digital ballast can use lamps with 400W, 600W, and 1000W. Note here the most efficient way to use watt settings: Match the wattage of bulb to the same wattage setting on the ballast. The lamps are designed to be the most efficient with its corresponding wattage. For example, a 600W lamp set at 100% on the ballast would be more efficient than 1000W lamp set at 60%.

Our Innotech Pro 1000 can be used with any 400W, 600W, 1000W double-ended Metal Halide (MH) lamps, as well as with 400W, 600W, 1000W double-ended High Pressure Sodium (HPS) lamps. As you go through the various stages of your growth cycle and find the need to change lamps, you simply do so as needed without having to change or move the fixture. 

How many watts per square foot do I need?

In general, 30-50 watts per square feet is optimal. For example, a 4x6 tray would be 24 square feet. This means it will need roughly 720-1200 watts.
